- some questions about this modem:
-
- 1) Had problems with remote access to voicemail. The system will say
- "you have x new mesages...."and then hang up. I put in the init
- string they recomend in the faxback service and it seems to be
- improved, but not perfect. Any thoughts?
-
- 2) I've installed faxworks 4 times and it works all 4 times EXCEPT,
- whenever I boot up windows I get an error message that says
- "enter Cardinal startup disk 1" I've been hitting cancel and
- going on, but how do I get rid of this message??
-
- 3) Where am I supposed toplug in the speakers? If I plug them into the
- modem I can hear (barely) my voice messages but I'm deafened everytime
- my modem dials somewhere from the horrible LOUD squeal that comes
- through the speakers. Is there a way I can stop the modem dialing and
- init coming through but still have the voicemail audible?? The other
- option is to have the speakers plugged into the soundcard, but to
- hear messages I have to pick up the handsetof the phone. annoying!
-
- 4) How much memory does the call center on faxworks use up?? I have a
- virus free 486 dx266 with 615K conv mem free and 8mb ram, but when
- faxworks is open (and nothing else!) I can't use Microsoft Word.
- any thoughts???
-
- 5) I guess noone has come up with a way to have a voicemail card answer
- and not kick you off an online service (or ISP) on the same phone line?
-
- sorry so many questions.
